On this episode of “Simplifying Life Through Technology,” Marshall and Andrew sit down with Bryan Palmer and Kayleigh Scholten from Holliday Homes.
Building a custom home takes more than a great design, it requires the right decisions to be made at the right time. Bryan and Kayleigh join us to discuss the planning, communication, and attention to detail required to keep a custom home build moving forward without sacrificing quality.
Bryan shares what it takes to execute a project in the field, where trade coordination, scheduling, and timely decisions can determine whether a build stays on track or experiences a costly domino effect. Kayleigh explains how she guides homeowners through interior selections that influence far more than the finished look of a room. Something as simple as the placement of a towel ring may require blocking inside the wall, while plumbing fixtures, mirrors, lighting, vanity layouts, and faucet heights can all affect work that happens long before the homeowner sees the finished space.
We also explore the design trends Holliday Homes is seeing today, including a move away from stark, ultramodern interiors and toward warmer tones, natural wood cabinetry, organic textures, and materials such as natural stone.
We discuss why lighting control, audio, networking, and proper pre-wiring need to be considered early, and how visiting an experience center like SoundVision allows homeowners to interact with these solutions firsthand, making the technology feel approachable rather than overwhelming.
Finally, Bryan and Kayleigh share what’s ahead for Holliday Homes, including their excitement surrounding their upcoming projects in Summit Farms in Davidson and the emerging “agrihood” concept that brings together thoughtfully designed homes, open space, agriculture, and a farm-to-table lifestyle.
Whether you’re preparing to build in Davidson or elsewhere around Lake Norman, this conversation will help you understand why early decisions matter, what questions to ask, and how the right team can help you build with fewer surprises and fewer regrets.

Welcome And Weather Chatter
SPEAKER_02Joining us in the podcast studio today, we have Brian and Kaylee from Holiday Homes. Welcome, guys.
SPEAKER_00Hello. Hello.
SPEAKER_02Thanks for joining us. Of course. Thank you for having us.
SPEAKER_04Glad to be here.
SPEAKER_02So also we have Marshall in the studio today. Say hi, Marshall.
SPEAKER_03Hello.
SPEAKER_02Thrilled.
SPEAKER_01Thrilled to be here.
SPEAKER_03So excited. So let's jump in. We got a severe weather warning. Uh-oh. It's interesting news.
SPEAKER_02Just rain, tornado? What are we talking?
SPEAKER_03That's you know how they exaggerate.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Probably trying to cancel school that's not even happening right now.
SPEAKER_02Project out.
SPEAKER_01Probably.
Who Does What At Holiday Homes
SPEAKER_02So why don't you guys tell us a little bit about yourself, kind of what you do at Holiday Homes, and tell us a little bit about the company.
SPEAKER_01Sure. Do you want to go first?
SPEAKER_04Sure, I'll go first. Okay. So uh I'm uh one of the project managers, I guess the project manager at least for now at Holiday Homes. Um so my job is basically just execution. Um once we um plans are done, um Kayle works with the homeowner to get all the designs done, uh everything kind of selected, then it rolls to me in the field and uh I execute it to finish.
SPEAKER_03So from beginning to end. You're the beginning to end. You're the direct relationship with the client. That's more Kaylee's job. Okay. Yeah. All right.
SPEAKER_01He's the direct with the uh with the trades. More the trades.
SPEAKER_03Okay, good. Yeah. In the field, or in the field, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You have client relations though.
SPEAKER_04A little bit. Yeah. Yeah. When things go south, it's always a good idea.
SPEAKER_01You have like 80 to 20 like vendor client, and I'm like 20, 80 client. I would agree with that.
SPEAKER_04Like, that's a that's a that's a good percentage, yeah. Yeah, I'd agree with that. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, I am well when I first started, my role was client concierge. But that sounds fancy. Yeah, it does. Isn't it? I know. It's because they didn't really know what to name me. It was like um, they were like, we need somebody to do all of these things. So um, but yeah, I basically just I am the point of contact for all of our clients. So as soon as um we have plans or a contract with clients, I step in and we take them through kind of stages of the selections. There's certain things that have to be picked before a foundation is poured, like before framing finishes. So I like to tell people when they ask what I do. Um, since I'm an interior designer, but I work for a builder, I basically do everything except furniture. That's what I tell people. Okay. And like we do like all the hard finishes, like everything you touch inside of a house that you just bought or moved into, that is what we pick.
Selections Needed Before The Foundation
SPEAKER_03So yeah, just out of curiosity, be because I want to know what has to be selected before foundation starts?
SPEAKER_01A lot, actually.
SPEAKER_03Is that just like a business practice, or it's because the foundation needs to know?
SPEAKER_01Um, both, I would say. So it's it's things that clients usually are like, why do I have to pick this? Um like for example, one of the things that is very silly is bath hardware accessories. Oh, interesting. Um, we might not have to have the exact fixture picked out, but we need to know like, are you gonna want a towel ring here? Because I then walk the house with Brian and we do blocking in the walls so that you don't go to hang your towel and like after the fifth time it's like wiggling and jiggling. So that is just one of those details you're like, I really need that up front. Right. Um, and of course, like cabinets, um, plumbing fixtures, we need to know that. I need to know if you're gonna have a wall mount faucet versus a you know deck mounted. Are we doing a freestanding tub in a room? Are we all of those things where it's all behind the walls before we close them up? So a lot of things that have roughs and trims, we need all of that rough information before uh foundation begins, especially if we're not doing like a basement or like if it's especially if it's like on a slab.
SPEAKER_04That's uh oh yeah, yeah. Yeah, a lot of decisions need to be made ahead of time. Well, think of that. Um, because as we start building the house, I don't want to be playing ketchup somewhere down the field and everybody's ready to go, and it's like, well, I haven't quite made that selection yet. And so then it's everything starts slowing down. So you're like, why are we six weeks ago? Exactly, exactly. I thought I was moving in in August. Maybe I'll move in L and Brian's like, I don't know. Where's your route color? Like That's right. Kaylee, I need help.
Typical Project Size And Budget
SPEAKER_03What's like the so what's the I'll call it average? I know you're a custom home builder, so there's there is no average really, but what's your I'll call it baseline project? Square footage, price point, finishes.
SPEAKER_01It's definitely evolved, I think. Um we're not a very old company per se. Um Brad and Bill kind of started it, what, in 2020?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, five years ago. Yeah. So nothing weird happening at that time. No, nothing. No, nothing at all. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_01The world was definitely not ending. Um so they started it together without really anyone else. And what we've heard was it was an interesting start. Um, and so they have evolved a lot since 2020. And I think probably their first homes were under a million.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I think that's um I think you're right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Once we got it in clearly, and now I would say probably our average would be I would say like two and a half.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I think it's a fair number. Very cool. Nice. Yeah. Mid twos to three. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01In square footage, like I mean, nothing under like 35.
SPEAKER_04No, probably four to someone 35 to 5. Yeah.
Team Culture And Collaboration Standards
SPEAKER_02So if someone is looking to build a house, what sets holiday homes apart? Like, why would someone come to you over a competitor? What do you guys what makes you guys stand out?
SPEAKER_03Well, it's definitely Brian, right?
SPEAKER_04Well, look, well, that's yeah, I mean, that's what I was I was hoping.
SPEAKER_01Like I mean, I'm not gonna argue that because actually we do. He is a great project manager. So or you know, somewhere, right? Just saying. But no, that actually is a huge reason, is our team. Um, Bill likes to joke that if we just get every client that inquires like into our office to meet with all of us, that we can like just sell them on working with us. Yeah, yeah. So I think we're all very personable. Um, office culture and like staff culture is like huge for our company. So we make sure we all work really well together. Um, and it shows when you like sit down with all of us. Absolutely, yeah.
SPEAKER_03We're very much the same way here. I mean, yeah, 1000. If you guys have like the EOS model, core values, yeah. Yep. Like we vet every decision, every hire, everything around those core values. And a lot of times we've had a good candidate that looks good on paper, but they don't check all the boxes on the culture side. Yeah. It's got it, it's a deal breaker.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean, look, we're the same way, right? So I mean, I think one of the big things for us too is collaboration.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So Bill brings a project to us and he says, Okay, I found this great property, maybe a great client. What do you guys think? Right. And so we're gonna have a roundtable discussion about what our our interests are, what we feel like this would be a good fit or wouldn't be a good fit. And look, if we don't all agree to this, we don't do it. I mean, it just we has to everybody has to be 100%, or we don't do it. So, I mean, that's I mean, that just gives you a little sense of pride to actually be able to throw your two cents out on that, right? So somebody isn't making a decision for you because look, every client is not a good fit, right? So you've got to have that flexibility just to say no. So that's right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So it's a good point. Yeah, definitely collaboration. I would agree with that.
SPEAKER_03There's never been a time where you're like, why didn't Kaylee pick this like a picture? This thing has a hundred strings.
SPEAKER_01Well, I am sure. I mean, actually, yesterday with the tile, you were probably cursing my name.
SPEAKER_04So I will say and I'll give props back to her. So I have worked with quite a few, you know, I've in in my span of doing this, quite a few designers. And I would say, hands down, no offense to the other ones that I've worked with, and I won't mention their names. Um hopefully they're not like um yeah, look, I I think she does such a good job and has such a good eye with our clients. Um, I think she captures that vision and what they want isn't what she wants, which again, no offense to all the other designers out there and or consultants. It's not a great spender of other people's money, but she does come up with things that are practical and things that again fit what they want, and it just makes sense. So not only since on paper, but being executed in the field, right? I mean, and that makes a big difference. So that homeowner walks in and is like, God, this is exactly what I was envisioning. So for doing that, too.
SPEAKER_03I gave Kaylee a shout out in one of our team meetings here recently. Do you remember? I think I don't remember whose house we were walking, but uh, we were trying to lay out like where does the television go on the great room fireplace, and like what is the mantle gonna look like? And Kaylee said, Oh, here you go. Handed me a sheet of paper with the elevation, right, dimensions, everything.
SPEAKER_01I already have that marshall.
SPEAKER_03I promise you this has never happened before, and I can't be more grateful.
SPEAKER_01I like to have the details worked out way ahead of time.
SPEAKER_03I mean, it was that was a beautiful moment.
SPEAKER_04Well, and I know that's listen, that's all our trades, right? So, I mean, it's you know, they're coming in and then and the plumber's like, so where am I putting this shower head again? Yeah. And she's got it all dimensioned off, and how far off the floor? This is the average height of a typical male, and you know, this is how it should be. And you know, same thing with uh the light fixtures, right? How far off the table is it gonna be if it's a dining room table or or you know, somewhere if it's in the stairwell, right? So how where should how should that land, right? So again, it makes it if you do all those little thoughtful considerations, it makes things so much easier. Yeah, you know, not only for me, but also for our trades.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, say it makes our trades want to work with us. They it keeps them coming back, which is important um for us. But I mean, that happened with Eddie from JR the other day, yeah. Uh talking about the evolution of our company. He was like, he's kind of the head electrician, and he was like, Hey, did you give them all the heights for everything? Like as I was walking out the door, and I was like, Yeah, they're like all posted on the job site. Like, and he was like, Oh, okay. He's like, That's new. Yeah, that's right. My job always done, I'm out too. I'm like, Well, hello. I'm Kayleigh. Here I am.
SPEAKER_04Were you really questioning us? I don't understand.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, yeah. And we, I mean, the only thing they asked was the stairwell light today. So I'm pretty pretty good.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, two blocks over within five minutes, she had an answer for the case.
SPEAKER_01A lot of our jobs, all of our jobs are local too. So and so is our office. Um, and so which I love. I've worked in other companies where I have to travel quite a ways to get to job sites, and it's just not productive. Um, like it's nice to, if you need me over there, to be like, all right, hang it 10 inches down. I can just run over. Give me a couple minutes. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Wind chill time is always the worst thing, right?
SPEAKER_01So it is, it is the biggest time waster ever.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. So it sounds like the differences in the details then. Absolutely. We say here a lot.
SPEAKER_02All the time.
SPEAKER_03We're not the only technology integrator, much like you're not the only custom home builder in the Lake Norman area. So you gotta set yourself apart.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. I'll try it. Agreed.
Design Trends Shifting Back To Warmth
SPEAKER_02Well, speaking of evolution, um, what have you seen more clients requesting or what trends maybe does fixtures or like media rooms, is there something you're seeing coming more to the forefront?
SPEAKER_01Um I wouldn't say I mean, we do get our fair share of people wanting to follow trends, but like Brian was alluding to, uh, each of our clients' houses are very different. They are um it's our when you see like a holiday home's home, it's not like you're not gonna know that it's our home just based on the style of it. Um it's mostly quality if you're looking at it that way. But um I'm seeing people go away from the like uber modern and um they're leaning more into like the warmer tones, which of course Brian's like, no, um just push those out and um operating room. I need to going away from waterfall edges, but we're seeing a lot of like people are going back to natural materials. Like I just three two five client. Um, she was like, I don't want man-made quartz anywhere. She was like, I hate it, and I she's like, it never looks clean, it doesn't like doing like she's like, I need it to be like a natural stone. I'm like, all right, you got it. Like, so they're just people are wanting those like earth materials, yeah. Yeah, and we're seeing it even in like tile flooring. And um, for one of our specs, I'm thinking about doing like a flagstone entryway, and so we're just going like more like organic, yeah, probably is trending. It's funny how things always come back around.
SPEAKER_04They always come back around, right? So the moody colors are they are the grazies, right? Reposed gray, yay! I'm back.
SPEAKER_03I feel like I've been seeing a lot more like stained wood, natural wood, not even really stained, but just like conditioned to look nice. Yes, yep. A lot of natural wood tones.
SPEAKER_01Yes, definitely.
SPEAKER_03Everything was painted cabinets for a long time, and now it's like gone back mid-century.
SPEAKER_01I mean, two of our houses on Goodrum Walnut both have full stained kitchens. Yeah, yeah. Oh wow. So yeah, they're definitely going away from the paint.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
The Early Decisions People Miss
SPEAKER_03What's a decision that clients like you feel like needs to be made sooner than people realize? Um that was probably a tough question, but I'm always curious about it.
SPEAKER_01So, like with like the foundation thing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, that's a good point.
SPEAKER_01No, it's for me also, well, one of them is also mirrors. So mirrors. I know you wouldn't think so, but with lights, and so if you and like faucet heights, it's it's kind of like all starts tying together, but people just don't realize they'll be like, Well, I want to do a Walmart faucet. And I'm like, Okay, well, that's gonna push your mirror up about a foot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So are you tall? Are you short? Like, you know, um, do we need to drop your entire vanity so that you can like see yourself in your mirror? Right. Um, or it's like, oh, I want to do sconces here, but my sink is pushed all the way to the edge of the vanity. Well, I'm like, well, now we need to redesign your cabinet so that your sink can be offset so you can have a light there. And it's just like everything is very tied to it. And I just don't think people's minds work like that, as they shouldn't, if you're not in that every day. So that's what they pay you for.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_01This just turned into a podcast of like, why to hire an interior designer?
SPEAKER_04I feel like throwing money away. Let me hire an interior designer. Here you go.
SPEAKER_01No, Brian, we're very necessary, okay?
SPEAKER_04You know, the other thing too, um, when they're making those selections is what goes behind the walls, right? So if you are moving that mirror, what if I have plumbing there? Or what if I've got wiring already there, right? So you have to be very intentional when you are doing things like that. Just that thought process has to be done before, again, we get into the foundation, right? Because surely left you got framing, and then what happens, right? Windows and doors, and then you know insulation. Yeah, right, your your rough ends and then your insulation, but then next thing you know, everything's rock rocking and rolling. You got your trim outs, right? So those things are very important when you're making the selection.
SPEAKER_01So I mean, it even goes back to like your floor plan. Like we just went into that with uh one of our projects on Goodrum, where all there was this door into the pantry, and I'm sitting there at framing, and I'm like, Well, I don't they have cabinets coming like all the way up to the door frame, and I'm like, well, what about a countertop? Like, how's the countertop gonna cut around it and where's the trim gonna go? And so we're like I'm like, we don't need trim. Why?
SPEAKER_02So why is someone thinking about this?
SPEAKER_01Why is no one ready? Um so Oh, you don't like that?
SPEAKER_04The one side with trim and the other side not?
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah, but I'm like, and then we end up having to like make the door smaller just so we can accommodate all these things, and yeah, it's things people do not think about. That's right.
Smart Home Expectations At Higher Price Points
SPEAKER_02So I'd be remiss if we didn't talk about technology. Of course. So technology typically, are you already utilizing that in a lot of your projects? I know today we came in to discuss lighting, but what is what how does technology work with your designs? Are we talking like in general technology, like audio, video, lighting?
SPEAKER_01We do a whole bunch of stuff here, but um well no, we haven't actually I don't think we've really integrated like besides what we do with Sound Vision as like pre-wire and stuff, but we no, we haven't integrated in a recent project like any super crazy technology, which is why we're here today. Um but I don't know. I mean, if we're talking from like a tech technology standpoint of just like day-to-day, that's probably more you.
SPEAKER_03So well, so I think what Andrew's talking is that's sort of the reason you're here today, right? Right. Because we recognize that your fair market value in the homes that you guys build, two and a half and up, people are going to expect a certain level of tech in those homes, right? They they've either had one before in a different market that's more accustomed to high level, higher level of technology, or they're reading about it and they want to know more about it and live with it a little bit. And so now these homes at the price points that we're asking need to incorporate some of that.
SPEAKER_04So no, I agree. I think that um, you know, especially with you guys doing the lighting and the sound system and everything else, an audio that goes with it. So, you know, I I think at certain price points people do expect that. Yeah, um, I do think that also is based on demographics as well. I mean, I think, and I'm not saying that all old people, myself. Why do we need 87? What's the threshold on that again? Um But I do I do see more and more technology going on. I was listening to a podcast this morning, and they were saying that some of the new things coming down the pipeline is kind of like you have Carfax for your cars, they're gonna start doing it for homes. Weird. Well, think about that. So if I've got your HVC system, I know what kind of, let's say it's a train, I know what it is. Before somebody gets there, they can look up and figure out exactly what that part is before they've, oh yeah, this is gonna be this, this, and this. I know exactly how to come looking at it.
SPEAKER_03So like I called somebody for a service call and I send them all my information.
SPEAKER_04They know exactly what's on there. So if it's you know, if it's um, you know, oh yeah, I know you've got Toto toilets in your house, right? And it's automated or whatever that looks like, right? So everybody already knows pretty.
SPEAKER_03We see here that a tree fell on the roof two years ago.
SPEAKER_04Correct, exactly.
SPEAKER_03You didn't report it.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_04We don't want this house anymore. We're gonna sell it.
SPEAKER_01Um that could be really bad for reselling.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, but but I am seeing more trends toward more technology, and and that could be anything from your appliances, right? If you're out in the yard mowing the grass and all of a sudden you get an alert on your phone going, hey, the meat thermometer says it needs to go another 20 minutes. Do you want to proceed? Boom, you do that, and it just continues to cook it while you're selling outside, right? To come back. So I am seeing that just across the board. Um, but I think you're gonna see more and more of that as we continue to build homes.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, and I probably I will say I think we haven't explored it as much as we wanted to because of the demographic of our clients.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_01We have a lot of like empty nester clients.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, and I think they're just not used to it and a little, it's daunting as we spoke about earlier. So they're like, oh, I don't need that. Like, I don't want to mess it up. Like that's kind of like, you know, like, oh yeah, I'm gonna like lose the controller or like not know what button to press, kind of things.
SPEAKER_03I think that's where this space that we're in now has is been a huge advantage for clients like that. Yeah, yeah. Adverse to change or feel like some some folks admittedly don't even know that some of this tech exists until they come in here and see it. Yeah, so coming in here to a fully like we call it an experience center because that's sort of what it is. You have to press the welcome button on your own and see what it does and turn on the TVs and watch the movie theater. And we don't do that for these clients. We hand them a remote and say, all right, put on this movie. And they they're usually pretty amazed at like how simple it is. Like, I'll help you if you get stuck, but you're not gonna get stuck. Yeah.
Summit Farms And The Agrihood Concept
SPEAKER_02So looking ahead, what is coming up in the future for holiday homes?
SPEAKER_01Would you like to talk about that? Sure. Summit farms. That's where I was going. I was hoping we're gonna go there.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so Summit Farms is I think is gonna be a really, you know, I think it's gonna bring a lot of um it's doing a lot of good builds to Davidson, right? So I mean, you know, again, it's it's it's close to and or you know, adjacent to narrow passage. Um, but the concept itself is just a super cool idea. Um I think we talked about what did we say it was like urban farm or something. What do we what do we call it? Oh, so agro hood.
SPEAKER_03It's the new buzzword.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um it sounds a little aggressive.
SPEAKER_02I it does. No, it really does. It kind of doesn't sound like aggressive. It's aggro hood.
SPEAKER_01Like it is aggressive.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, some farmers coming out in the hood, yeah. With the blood in the crypts hanging out, you know, with the tractors and okay.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna have to go out of that part now.
SPEAKER_04It's all centralized around cannabis, yeah. That's what I was thinking. Yeah, it's uh Davidson's till it's getting.
SPEAKER_03It might be. That's right. That's the Portland of of North Carolina. Correct, that's right.
SPEAKER_01I like that. I like that.
SPEAKER_04But I I do think it's a great idea. I think I like the idea of having you know, farm to table some some gastro hubs from. Restaurants, bakery, of course, Summit Farm is gonna have their corporate headquarters there, so roastery. Nice who doesn't like fresh cup of coffee. Um, some really excellent builders, obviously besides holiday homes. Um, you know, with the builder skill, but I I think it's it to me, it would be almost like your elite builders in the late Mormon era. A builder showcase. Yeah, and that's really what it is.
SPEAKER_03I mean, yeah, so narrow passage was kind of designed the same way. It really was, yeah. It started with the three charity homes on the back.
SPEAKER_04That's right, that's right. Yeah. And two of those will actually be participating in that as well. So very cool. Yeah, so that's right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we're really excited.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it looks really cool.
SPEAKER_03It is. Yeah, how about how many homes do you guys plan to do back there? Because every builder got like a separate portion of it, right?
SPEAKER_01It's we have six to start out. Yeah. Um, and then six lots or six lots.
SPEAKER_03Six lots, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um, and they're kind of releasing it in phases. So it'll be like phase one, and then I think there's like you have to something along the lines of like you have to build a certain amount and then you can lottery into the next one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Exactly. It's like a video game.
SPEAKER_01Um But the the twist is that I think a buyer can come along, buy a lot, and then if no builder owns that lot, they can choose a builder to build it.
SPEAKER_04Of the guild. It has to be within one.
SPEAKER_01It has to be a guild, yes, within that guild. But yeah, so we don't want to be able to do it. Somebody could come along and be like, Well, I bought a lot in Summit Farms and I want you to be my builder. So interesting.
SPEAKER_04And I think there's only five, I think five lots, right? I think it's only five that they're doing is access to is it three? Okay, so sorry.
SPEAKER_01In each phase?
unknownIn that first phase.
SPEAKER_01In the first phase.
SPEAKER_04So three lots that the if a homeowner comes in and says, Hey, I'm gonna buy without going through the actual one of the of the five of the five builders. So got it.
SPEAKER_02Very cool.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Very cool. Well, that's exciting. Yeah.
Music Tastes And Concert Highlights
SPEAKER_02All right, so let's transition into what we call our fun questions. We want to gauge your music interest. So we'll start with ladies first. Kaylee.
SPEAKER_03This is your chance to shine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, favorite band, artists, any notable concerts, anything like that.
SPEAKER_01Oh man. Um, it definitely depends on my mood. Like 100%. I get that. Um but like if I'm just like day-to-day, probably somebody like train, you know, like Virginia is like my favorite song ever. Couldn't tell you why, but love that song. Um, but then again, I also listen to like Spice Girls on the Way to Work today. Love it.
SPEAKER_04So wow, whole side I've never seen before. I know Spice Girls.
SPEAKER_01But then like when we're in the office together and I'll like put music on for the office, we uh just are vibing to like oldie. Oh, it's like road trip radio. Like, we're just yeah, so is your favorite spice girl? Oh, um, probably like sporty or posh. I mean, yeah. Everyone wanted to be there. Nobody wanted to see that. Yeah, like no, definitely one of those two. Got it.
SPEAKER_02What about you, Mr. Brian?
SPEAKER_04Uh I guess it just depends on what kind of as well, what kind of mood I'm in, right? So let's see, last concert, Jamie Johnson, which was absolutely incredible.
SPEAKER_03I went with Whiskey Myers a couple years ago. Love Whiskey Myers, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Those guys are great. Um if you were to go in my car right now, I'd probably be a little more, let's see, probably deadbeats radio, maybe. Um, maybe a little down tempo. Just depends on the kind of mood that I'm in. If I'm you know vibing on a Friday, it might be a little Bob Marley, little Jack Johnson, something like that. Just a pim all over the board, right?
SPEAKER_03That was only a joke about the cannabis century.
SPEAKER_04Don't sit out of my truck, Marshall. Um I thought it smelled funny. It's C B D, it's C BD.
SPEAKER_03Uh what's like a what's a a technology that you guys use in your homes currently, right now, or maybe one that you've seen here and you want to put in your homes, like your own personal homes.
Home Tech They Actually Want
SPEAKER_01Um we have, I don't know what we we have something through like CPI. So we can like sort of voice control our lights, which is nice. Yeah, that's nice. Um but I would love to be able to do like lamps. I I have so many lamps in my house, and that's why I asked you that question earlier, because I'm like, I'll be like, you know, Alexa, turn off the kitchen lights. And then it's like my lamp is still like on, and I'm like, oh, now I have to walk across the house. First world problems. But yes, it would be I would have my oh my gosh, I would do my whole house like with panelized lighting. We can get you a clapper. Oh my gosh. Yeah. That might be in my future.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that problematic lamp goes right away.
SPEAKER_01That might be in my future. The one in my son's room, too.
SPEAKER_04I think the one for the bathroom and the bigger room.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03You mentioned mirrors earlier, and I I immediately thought of Sierra mirrors with the you've probably seen them in like four seasons where they have a TV. Yes, yeah. Oh yeah, we did. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you talk about that project you did all the time. Yeah. It was like he had like a TV everywhere. Yeah, TV in the trickers or something. I thought it was super cool. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03What about you, Brian? Technology in the home?
SPEAKER_04So you were talking about voice control, right? So my technology voice control as well. I just yelled for my wife to cut the uh lights off.
SPEAKER_01I'm sorry. Angela's gonna listen to this. You're gonna get it.
SPEAKER_04You know, we uh we built about four or five years ago, and we probably didn't integrate as much as we should have, but we do have a lot of the smart bulbs throughout the house, and so um you know, and that's pretty much and we have of course we have Google everywhere, Google Dots everywhere, and just the the home station. So you know.
SPEAKER_03Is that what you guys use for like music and stuff too? We do, yeah.
SPEAKER_04If you know, or if we cast it to if we see something, we may cast it there or cast it to TV or something like that. So very cool. But I will tell you, I do like the showroom. Sell the house. We gotta build something else.
SPEAKER_01Why do you guys love Pollock Wissel? Exactly. That's exactly right. I also need you to come like switch all my cam lights out. Yeah. Let's warm it and everything. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's it's so tricky.
SPEAKER_01You know, I'm gonna go home and be like my house sucks.
SPEAKER_04Sell the house, honey. We are getting a new technology.
SPEAKER_01We just moved in, but we need to go.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna need you to take another four jobs so I can pay for it.
SPEAKER_02So Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh, very cool.
