Speaker 1:

Hey, it's Andrew. Welcome to Simplifying Life Through Technology. Joining me today all the way from Mitchell Community College's CCTL program. We have students Kingston, allison and Zinaya here to discuss the advertisement they recently created for SoundVision for their final client, capstone project. Welcome, guys, we're glad to have you here.

Speaker 2:

It's good to be here.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's feeling good.

Speaker 2:

Thanks for having us, Of course of course.

Speaker 1:

So why don't you tell us a little bit about what the client capstone project is?

Speaker 4:

Basically I explained it very simply The client capstone project was choosing a company and creating something for them that would be just beneficial for them overall and just kind of having that experience with a real company.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's awesome. So Mr Lele told me that you guys actually were aware of that this project was coming up throughout the entire year. So you kind of got to prep for it, gear your skills and kind of think about what you would want to do.

Speaker 4:

Yes, I remember a couple of times he mentioned like a deadline, like a certain day. he was like, oh, this is when it's going to start. Sometimes I was looking forward to it, other times Not so much. A little daunting.

Speaker 1:

Well, it's cool because you're getting some real life experience with communication, eye contact, emailing back and forth. How to properly type?

Speaker 2:

an email.

Speaker 1:

Those are all important things. What made you choose Sound Vision as your group?

Speaker 3:

As a group and, being in a College of Technology, seeing that you guys worked with such advanced technology and worked with different people, it really drew us in because one to go to a company and look around and see what kind of technology and equipment that you guys have here. It was just too good of a chance to pass up.

Speaker 1:

I love that. So you were given the list of clients, and so you browsed everyone's websites. Is that how it all began?

Speaker 4:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

So what did you guys think initially when you came across a website?

Speaker 2:

Sound Vision kind of threw me off. Originally I thought you had something to do with speakers, like just speakers and sound.

Speaker 1:

But then looking through your website.

Speaker 2:

It was very interesting to find out exactly what you did with the home theaters, and the shades was one of the things that interested me, that surprised me. Looking through all of your services and the layout of the website. The colors of the website all interested in our group.

Speaker 1:

Eye-catching maybe.

Speaker 4:

Yeah eye-catching for sure, very unique. I kind of got oh, they're sophisticated, you know.

Speaker 3:

That also brings us back to the five-star review.

Speaker 1:

So, naya, tell us about the five-star review.

Speaker 3:

So we were looking for more that told us about the company, their clients, what they did and even the employees. So we went to go see the reviews and to see that there was so many five star reviews like a perfect five star review. It really showed us one how much you guys cared about the clients, your work and just showed how you guys were overall, very efficient with what you guys did. I was a little shocked Five stars, wow.

Speaker 1:

I love to hear that, because you summed it up perfectly. That is our goal. We're a service forward company. We're here to service our clients, find you with the best products.

Speaker 4:

I was really happy that you were okay with some vision, because I remember you weren't there when we actually chose the company.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, i was happy to come back to find out what they picked. It was great.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome, so you guys had an opportunity to come into our showroom while you were working on the project. What did you guys think when you first came in?

Speaker 4:

Absolutely enamored.

Speaker 2:

It was shocking Definitely not at all what I expected when coming to your offices A lot more laid out. It's built like a house, like you would see the actual room in your house where you would actually want things and how you would want to be set up, And that definitely engaged us more. A lot more interesting and fun.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and that's exactly it. We want to show the experience of these products, because it's hard to gauge from our website. What can they do, how do they sound, what kind of feeling do you get? So that's exactly it. We want to show that experience with it. What was your favorite part about the showroom?

Speaker 4:

The big movie room right out there, the movie theater. And I loved all the. It's not really relevant for, like the posters all over the place.

Speaker 1:

Yes, great decor around our showroom It looks like movie theater.

Speaker 3:

I think you guys really captured how warm homey atmosphere here. And that's why it was so easy to really, you know, warm up to you guys, settle in. I was extremely nervous. Oh no, when we first started, I was not sure about coming down here. I will admit, but, actually coming in speaking with you, michelle, and seeing how nice everyone was. It made it so much easier to come walk around And everything was amazing Technology is great.

Speaker 1:

I'm glad We were so happy to work with you guys. You guys were so great and kind throughout the whole thing. So what did you guys end up doing for our project?

Speaker 2:

We end up making an advertisement for a paper, and the idea of the advertisement itself was to try to capture the product quality, specifically the speakers, and like the sound quality and visuals, putting all the services on one side and trying to organize it in a way that flows with the paper And it's catching two other eyes, so you can know what they do, know what sound vision does and I get like a good idea of how it's going to be.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and that's definitely what I got from your project was eye catching. It was definitely eye catching, which is why we loved it, thank you, thank you. What we also loved was your addition of yourselves in the images. We thought that was so fun to bring some life, because that is something that we strive on Social media is to try to bring humanity into there, because it's great to see these projects, but you want to see people enjoying them, so that was really creative on your part. We really appreciated that.

Speaker 4:

I don't really remember who came up with that idea.

Speaker 1:

I think we were talking about models Kingston.

Speaker 2:

That's a lot of sound visualization.

Speaker 1:

We were talking about like Disney models or something, and I don't know, they were like looking at me, and they were like she's like such a Disney model.

Speaker 3:

It's not a bad thing, i was telling her she'd be like the perfect Disney kid model. She's definitely there.

Speaker 1:

So how was the overall experience in creating it from start to finish?

Speaker 4:

I think naturally it kind of progressed. like most things, you're nervous about it at first and then, once it's all over with, it's really like I wish I could do that again. I absolutely loved it. I loved the experience. I loved the people that we got to work with, because they were absolutely so kind.

Speaker 1:

You're so kind.

Speaker 4:

I think we all got along really well and that also fueled our enjoyment of it. Honestly, i kind of wish that it wasn't over so quickly, aww.

Speaker 3:

I'll have to agree with that. The design process was great. Sketching it out first, we all came together On the iPhone, Oh yeah remember the original sketch, the very first one on the notebook paper.

Speaker 4:

I do think I still have the picture, i do.

Speaker 3:

Actually setting the right proportions into illustrator, then getting the colors right and making everything on there look symmetrical and work together well. It was all really fun. It was great.

Speaker 1:

I'd love to hear that. So what were some of your biggest challenges you feel throughout this process?

Speaker 2:

The visualizing the sound, trying to figure out like what to add to the add to make it unique and stand out. That was definitely one of the hardest things that we ran into.

Speaker 1:

And so do you think coming into the showroom helped with that?

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

What did you guys enjoy the most about working with us at Sound Vision?

Speaker 3:

Well, besides the fact that you guys have been absolutely just lovable amazing I really enjoyed seeing, like the behind the scenes of how it all works. We got to see the workshop and we got to see how the servers were built and it was really eye-opening. I didn't expect that you guys' company to work like that, but going in and seeing how things are actually done it gave us a better feel of how the project should have went along.

Speaker 1:

Well, we loved working with you guys too. You guys were a pleasure. You were super on top of things deadlines, everything and just great attitudes. You guys were awesome. So time for something on a little more of a fun note. Oh, oh my goodness, who is? your favorite band or artist right now.

Speaker 4:

You know it kind of changes a lot, but you know right now Motley Crue.

Speaker 1:

Okay, i see you. Yeah, Favorite song.

Speaker 4:

Wild Side.

Speaker 1:

Nice.

Speaker 4:

Nice. Anytime that song is on, i'm just like this is my thing, this is me, literally.

Speaker 1:

What about you, Zinaya?

Speaker 3:

See, it changes a lot for me too, but I have been currently really liking Rihanna again.

Speaker 1:

I love Rihanna. What about you, Kingston?

Speaker 2:

I'm loving between two Snarky Puppy and Wolfbeck. Right now, those are two of my favorite. I'll bounce between those Nice.

Speaker 4:

You've never really talked about music ever.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't really talk about music much.

Speaker 1:

Are you a big music guy, disney? Because I was surprised, mr Lele wasn't a big music guy.

Speaker 2:

Oh, really Yeah, actually, him to be a music guy. Me too, i thought you would have been like there to use kind of music.

Speaker 4:

I don't know how old he is, you know.

Speaker 3:

Oh, he's like 60. He said it on his podcast.

Speaker 4:

Before we go, I do have a question for you. Oh, yes, turn the table. I should be asking you questions.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what you got.

Speaker 3:

So, before we actually showed up for the first time or before you actually came in, how are you feeling about it? Like the project itself meeting with us?

Speaker 4:

Were you scared teenagers? you know So Spooky.

Speaker 1:

Fun fact. Michelle, mark and myself thought, oh, they're college students. And then everyone started walking in. We're like, Oh my God, i think it's so great that, as a freshman in high school, you're getting this experience with the real world, with these programs, the Adobe programs, or something that I use in my career all the time, and to think that 15, 16, you're already dealing with all that, it's great. It's great All right. Well, thank you guys so much for being here with us today. We really appreciate it. You guys were a pleasure to work with throughout this whole entire process And we loved what you guys came up with.

Speaker 4:

Oh, thank you so much. Honestly. this is such a good experience. I really can't believe it's over already.

Speaker 2:

I know I'm sad, I'm gonna miss it, but it's not the end.

Speaker 1:

You're always welcome here in our showroom.
